A couple of no-frills props were the Warriors’ best on a disappointing night at the SCG.

ROGER TUIVASA-SHECK (c): Great start courtesy of a line-break and a try-assist from an excellent grubber, but a dropped bomb and a fumble that led directly to a crucial second-half try made for a disappointing night from last week’s superhero. Ran for a team-high 192 metres and had five tackle-breaks. 6

DAVID FUSITU’A: Carried strongly out of the Warriors’ end but just can’t get involved in anything meaningful on attack. 5.5

ADAM POMPEY: Grabbed the first try and had some good moments defending against Joey Manu, but also missed five tackles. Made nine runs for 70 metres and almost put Big Ken away for a second-half try. 6

MARCELO MONTOYA: A busy club debut with 21 tackles and eight runs. No real complaints, but fairly limited for a centre. 6

KEN MAUMALO: A bit more like the usual Big Ken with 19 carries for 163 metres, but an awful attempted tackle on opposite Brett Morris let in a crucial try. Went within a fingernail of a superb finish. 5

KODI NIKORIMA: Put up the kick for the first try but rarely injected himself on attack. Came up with some brave stops on hulking second-rower Angus Crichton among his 24 tackles, but was credited with six misses. 5

SEAN O’SULLIVAN: Didn’t have the same impact as he did in his first game as a Warrior, but kicked and defended fairly soundly. 5

ADDIN FONUA-BLAKE: Made five strong runs before exiting in the 14th minute, ruled out for the game with a knee knock. 5

WAYDE EGAN: Topped the Warriors’ tackle count with 48 but his dummy-half service and option-taking was below-par. Became obsessed with crash balls for his forwards near the try-line – easy pickings for the Roosters’ defence. One run for two metres. 4.5

BUNTY AFOA: The Warriors’ best by a fair margin. Played 60 minutes with AFB sidelined, racked up a massive 170 metres from 13 carries and 41 tackles without a miss. A real enforcer’s knock from grunty Bunty, hurting his opponents with and without the ball. 8

ELIESA KATOA: Modest impact from Katoa, who is struggling to replicate his rookie-season form to date in 2021. Played 38 minutes and made six runs and 24 tackles. 5

BAYLEY SIRONEN: Fairly solid on both sides of the ball but a bad pass led to a Roosters runaway try and coughed up the ball when the Warriors were hot on attack. 5

TOHU HARRIS: Brilliant put-down for the Warriors’ second try and finished with 42 tackles and 12 runs for 110 metres. Sloppy play-the-ball error early in the second half and four missed tackles was un-Tohu-like. 6

JAZZ TEVAGA: Only given 41 minutes despite the injury to a key middle forward. Made six runs and 24 tackles, but two handling errors blighted his game. 5

BEN MURDOCH-MASILA: Wasn’t able to make the same impact as recent weeks, chalking up just four runs in his 28 minutes on the park. 4.5

LEESON AH MAU: Missed his first tackle for the season – just the one, though, to go with 25 defensive stops and a strong 11-run, 110-metre contribution with the ball. 7

JACK MURCHIE: Racked up 31 tackles and 83 metres in an hour of game-time. 6
