The Warriors’ feeder club arrangement with Queensland InTrust Super Cup club Redcliffe appears to be off to a flying start, with a stack of Warriors-contracted players named in the Dolphins’ Round 1 side to take on Mackay Cutters on Saturday night.
The most notable selections include fringe first-graders Paul Turner at halfback, Hayze Perham at fullback, Rocco Berry at centre, Kane Evans at prop and Josh Curran in the second-row.
The line-up also includes winger Edward Kosi, centre Viliami Vailea, prop Jackson Frei and lock Pride Petterson-robati, who received a two-year deal from the Warriors last week after impressing on a train and trail contract over the summer.
The Redcliffe-based contingent of the team includes former Gold Coast and Manly five-eighth Cameron Cullen, Whangarei product and ex-West Tigers hooker Manaia Cherrington, and 2018 Sonny Fai Medal winner Preston Riki, who will come off the bench in Mackay.
The Dolphins, who finished seventh in 2019 and reached the second week of the finals (the 2020 ISC was abandoned after one round due to COVID-19), are coached by 2006 Queensland Origin hero Adam Mogg.
