It was one-way traffic in Townsville as the hosts piled on four unanswered second-half tries. Jason Taumalolo’s metre-eating efforts stole the headlines.

SYDNEY ROOSTERS V SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS @ BANKWEST STADIUM

The Roosters always looked in control of this grudge match, though the depleted Rabbitohs deserve some credit for hanging in until Jake Friend’s kick-and-chase try put the result beyond doubt with four minutes left.

NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS V ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA @ CENTRAL COAST STADIUM

An improbable and stirring result for the NRL community’s second-favourite team. The Warriors completed their first 45 sets in an unprecedented feat against a sorry Saints outfit.

CRONULLA SHARKS V WESTS TIGERS @ BANKWEST STADIUM

The Sharks led 16-10 at halftime but failed to turn up after the break. Benji Marshall outplayed Kiwi teammate Shaun Johnson in the battle of the veteran halves.

The Raiders surged to premiership favouritism with an emphatic road win over the Storm, inspired by a brilliant display from English halfback George Williams.

An astonishingly brave performance from an injury-ravaged Knights side saw them fight from 14-0 down to secure a competition point in a rare golden point draw.

The Sea Eagles scored a Round 3-high seven tries – including several long-range efforts – as Tom Trbojevic ran roughshod through a Bulldogs side that looks like they’re in for a painful campaign.
